Eli Zakutaylo - Editor-in-Chief

Eli is in their third year of undergraduate studies at McGill. Their biggest interest lies in the stories people tell, and how they tell them. That is probably the reason they chose to study Psychology and Linguistics. They can be seen sneaking off to the closest place that sells tea between lectures.

Allegra Hiebert - VP Finances

Allegra is in her fourth and final year of studies at McGill. She is currently studying Economics and History. Her biggest interests include cooking, traveling and seeing her friends.

Lisa Ngo - VP Promotions

Lisa is in her third year of undergraduate studies at McGill and she is currently studying Psychology and History. She believes that sharing personal experience regarding mental health can be comforting and validating and she encourages more people to do so. When she is not busy studying she likes to swim, sing and hang out with her friends.

Amina Djouaher - Editor

Amina is in her second year in Law at McGill University. She is very excited to be part of this year's team. As an immigrant, she wanted to encourage the inclusion of a diverse set of perspectives for The Empathy Journal. Her biggest interest is dancing. She loves any kind of dance and she is always up to learn a new style!

Bianca Durand - Editor

Bianca is in her second year of undergraduate Studies at McGill. She discovered a passion for storytelling and literature very early on, and has since developed an interest in editing and the publishing industry. You might find her in the corner of a library or a bookstore, burried in a good book, or maybe even hopping around on a trampoline.

Donna Lee - Editor

Donna is in her second year of undergraduate studies at McGill. Her favourite hobbies are reading, writing, exercising, deep conversations, hanging out with her friends, and exploring Montreal. No wonder she chose to study Economics and East Asian Studies. She can be seen cuddling with her cat or eating at new restaurants on the weekend.

Emma Lounsbury - Editor

Emma is in her third year of undergrad studying Psychology, Communication Studies, and English Literature. She enjoys learning about people through the stories they tell, and believes that everybody finds common ground when they take the time to listen. When not studying and editing, Emma drinks bubble tea as often as possible and enjoys cooking - especially tacos.

Laura Yudo - Editor

Laura is a U1 student in pharmacology and Therapeutics pursuing a minor in International Development Studies. As you get to know Laura, you quickly learn that she is a proud Nigerian, loves Jesus and is passionate about a lot of things. She loves hearing and empowering people to share their stories. She believes the most interesting stories to hear are those that come from people who look nothing like you, with different beliefs, backgrounds and perspectives on life. She dreams of one day using her passion for storytelling and mental health advocacy to increase awareness of mental health and illness in her home country.

Samantha Holmes - Editor

Sammy is a fourth year student studying Art History and History. In studying these disciplines, it reminds her everyday in the importance of human connections, no matter how big or small they reach. All humans truly want is to find someone who has the capacity to understand their lives in some way, and she finds that this journal is one way in which these connections can be encouraged and impactful.
